Winter weather arrangements

In the event of heavy snow, we will endeavour to keep the school open. All children to use the Heath Road entrance please and come directly into school using the double doors into the library area.

Children should ……

  • Come in Wellingtons/boots – don’t forget your hat, scarf and gloves
  • Bring a change of shoes and clothes (jogging bottoms are a good idea)
  • Children will be allowed to play out in the snow

In the unlikely event of the school having to close ……

  • A text will be sent to all parents between 7.00am – 7.15am.
  • A message will also be placed on the Heathwood School website and facebook pages between 7.00am – 7.15am.
  • Central Bedfordshire Council has an ‘SOS’ information service where parents are able to sign up to receive important information about school closures due to adverse weather.  To register for the service visit https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/info/95/schools_portal/569/online_resources    Click on 'link'  to register for updates.
